As DA Aims High, Trump Defense Gets 'Down And Dirty'

Marc Scholl was quoted in Law360 on defense attorney Todd Blanche's opening arguments in Donald Trump's criminal hush-money trial.
Blanche's argument was "particularly fascinating" to former New York prosecutor Marc Scholl of Lewis Baach Kaufmann Middlemiss PLLC, who noted election interference "has been the Trump theme in post after post and speech after speech." Trump has leveled that charge against Bragg and prosecutors in his other three criminal cases, alleging a conspiracy to derail his 2024 White House bid.
"Apparently, for the purposes of trial, democracy means 'anything goes,'" Scholl told Law360.
